PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to stage a sit-in protest in Kolkata on Tuesday, June 2, but the programme has encountered a hurdle after police reportedly declined permission for the proposed venue at Rani Rashmoni Road. According to available information, the protest is planned from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with Banerjee expected to remain physically present at the venue from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The development emerged a day before the scheduled demonstration.
According to sources, police did not grant permission for the protest to be held on Rani Rashmoni Road and instead proposed the Y Channel as an alternative location. Permission for a two-hour programme at the alternative venue was reportedly offered. Which means, the Trinamool supremo, along with her party members, will hold the demonstration there.
Expressing anger over the denial of permission, Trinamool spokesperson and MP Kunal Ghosh slammed the BJP government, saying that they are using the police. This comes in the backdrop of a violent attack on Trinamool leader and MP Abhishek Banerjee at Sonarpur.
